Steps to make
- Roast the red rice well after rinsing and air drying on a cotton towel.
- Cool and Powder to a fine rava consistency.
- Then mix it with few tea spoons of warm water, let it sit for about 30 minutes.
- Then steam in puttu kudam or in a cotton towel on idli plates for about 20 minutes.
- You can also add layers of coconut in between the red rice grits.
- Sweet dish - add jaggery powder, ghee and cardamom
- Savory dish - Have kadala kari as side
